In this case, the structural parts shown in the accompanying figures and marked with reference numerals correspond to the construction solutions presented in the following description. Figure 1 thus shows two shopping carts 1 with their main parts, S ie. a basket 2 mounted on a wheel chassis 3, and a handle 4 mounted to and N behind the basket.
The basket has a bottom 5, two side walls 6, a rear wall 7 and S a front wall 8. The walls and bottom of the basket are usually made of metal wood and the walls usually have a reinforcement in their upper edge 9 in the form of two essential
parallel parallel with advantage coarser metal wires.
The wheel chassis is usually made of a coarser metal wire or metal tube and has a number of wheels 10 for advancing the shopping cart on a level surface 11. The handle is hereby arranged to extend outside the rear wall of the basket, the handle being attached to the basket via two struts 12 in the handle. opposite ends.
At least one strut here forms one or more closed or partially open loops 13 which project from the rear wall of the basket.
The present locking device 14 has, in accordance with Figure 3, a frame 15 with an advantageously quadrangular, for example rectangular, design, which in its one edge comprises a fastening element 16. In its advantageous embodiment, the fastening element comprises a cross section in the form of an arc of a circle or an L -form.
At their opposite ends, the fastening element further comprises locking means 17 projecting from the body. These locking means are arranged to co-operate with the loops 13 of the shopping cart 1, the locking means being arranged to extend through each of the loops at the opposite ends of the handle.
In an advantageous embodiment according to Figure 4, the fastening elements also have projecting stop elements 18. Such stop elements are arranged to cooperate with the edge of the respective loop 13 in order thus to prevent the fastening element from deviating from the loop.
At its edge opposite the fastening element 16, the frame 15 has at least two mounting members 19, which project substantially perpendicularly from a lower surface 20 shown by the frame. The mounting members have a length of about 50 - 200 mm and are provided with guide elements 21 in their outer opposite end of the frame.
A locking device according to Figure 3 and Figure 4, respectively, operates in the following manner. The body 15 is operated to lie against the upper edge 9 of the front wall 8 of the basket 2. In this case the mounting means 19 will slide downwards towards the bottom 5 of the basket N. The slightly angled mounting means seek beyond the front wall 8, 7 whereby the guide elements 21 will cooperate with a of the front wall shown © 30 horizontal wire construction while the frame cooperates with the upper edge of the basket 9. E As a result of this cooperation, the reading device attaches to the front wall of the basket. In the following stage a second shopping cart is obtained which is placed so that its S rear wall 7 is oriented towards the front wall 8 of the first shopping cart. Seen from the rear wall towards the front wall, the left locking member 17 S 35 of the reading device 14 is then passed through the loop 13 to the left of the handle 4 The left fastener is pushed through the loop until the right locking member can also be passed through the loop to the right handle.
If a locking device according to Figure 4 is used, it is ensured that the projecting stop elements 18 are arranged to lie between the two loops.
Thus, the two shopping carts are connected to each other according to Figure 1. In a third advantageous embodiment, the present locking device 14 in accordance with Figures 5 and 6 also has an advantageously rectangular body 15, which in its one edge comprises a fastening element 16. In this embodiment, the fastening element comprises locking means 17 in the form of sliding rules at their opposite ends.
These sliding rules can be manually adjustable so that a locking piston 22 is operated to move in a sliding channel 23 with a gripper 24 between a retracted (figure 5) and a projecting position (figure 6). The sliding bolt may also comprise a spring-loaded telescopic part according to Figure 7, wherein the locking piston in a rest position occupies a projecting position, but can be manually pressed in the longitudinal direction of the fastening element towards its center point.
As in the embodiments described above, the frame 15 has at its edge opposite the fastening element 16 at least two mounting means 19, which project substantially perpendicularly from a lower surface 20 shown by the frame. The mounting means have a length of about 50 - 200 mm and are provided with guide elements 21 in its outer end opposite the frame.
A locking device according to Figure 5 and Figure 6, respectively, operates in the following manner.
The frame 15 is operated to lie against the upper edge 9 of the front wall 8 of the basket 2. In this case the mounting means 19 will slide downwards towards the bottom 5 of the basket. The slightly angled mounting means seek beyond the front wall 8, the guide elements 21 cooperating with the straight wall construction. .
As a result of this interaction, the reading device attaches to the basket and the front wall.
AN In the following stage a second shopping cart is retrieved and placed so that its N rear wall 7 is oriented towards the front wall 8 of the first shopping cart. The now front 7 shopping cart is moved towards the fastening element 16 of the reading device 14 whose locking means 17 are arranged to receive a slider retracted position.
When the fastening element lies on a line connecting the loops 13 projecting from the rear wall 7 of the basket 2, the sliding rules are actuated to their projecting position, so as to S unite the two shopping carts with each other according to Figure 2. NI a fourth advantageous embodiment has the present reading device 14 in accordance with Figures 8 and 9, an advantageously rectangular frame 15, which in its one edge comprises a fastening element 16. As in the embodiments,
written above, the body 15 has at its edge opposite the fastening element at least two mounting means 19 to cooperate with the front wall 8 of the underlying shopping cart 1. In this fourth embodiment the fastening element 16 comprises locking means 17 in the form of at least one projecting fork with parallel disc-like tines 24 which in between delimit a groove 25. Such a fork may be uniformly elongate in its design or the fastening element may, as in Figure 8, have two or more forks arranged along the length of the fastening element. The main thing with the design is that the fork of the locking member (s) will at least partially surround the upper edge 9 of the rear wall 7 of the front shopping cart 1. A final interaction with the upper edge is obtained with at least two locking devices 26 which can be arranged to essentially close the notch shown by the fork in which the upper edge of the rear wall is arranged. Such locking devices can consist of, for example, pins which are arranged in holes made by the forks of the fork, or of the knobs rotatably arranged to the fork. In order to provide sufficient control force, the locking devices should be placed at a distance of 300 - 600 mm from each other.
A locking device according to Figures 8 and 9 operates in the following manner. The frame 15 is operated to lie against the upper edge 9 of the front wall 8 of the basket 2 of the underlying shopping cart 1. In this case, the mounting means 19 shown by the frame will cooperate with the horizontal tree construction of the front wall and fasten the locking device to the front wall of the basket.
In the following stage a second shopping cart is obtained and placed so that its rear wall 7 is oriented towards the front wall 8 of the first shopping cart 8. The now front shopping cart is moved towards the fastening element 16 of the locking device 14 whose fork-shaped locking means 17 are operated to surround the upper edge 9 of the basket wall 7. see o Figure 9. Readers 26 in the form of pins are placed in the heel recesses of the locking means, the upper edge of the AN of the rear wall being prevented from moving away from the cutter 25 and the two N shopping carts remain connected to each other in accordance with Figure 2. A further fifth advantageous embodiment has a reading device 14 in accordance with Figures 10 and 11 with an advantageously rectangular frame 15. Unlike the previous embodiments, this solution has two fastening elements 16 arranged at the opposite horns of the frame, whereby they will be O placed at a distance of 300 - 600 mm from each other. As in the embodiments described above, the body 15 in its S 35 opposite the fastening element has at least two mounting means 19 to cooperate with the front wall 8 of the rear shopping cart 1.
The 19 advantageously protrudes from the body in a direction which is substantially parallel to the lower surface 20 of the body 15.
In this fifth embodiment, the fastening element 16 comprises locking means 17 in the form of a U-profile. In this case, the flanges 26 of the profile will occupy a position where they are substantially parallel to the lower surface 20 of the frame 15 and the U-profile opens in the direction of the frame. This design makes it possible to easily place the locking means to partially surround the handle 4 of the front shopping cart 1.
A reading device according to Figure 10 and Figure 11 operates in the following manner.
The two shopping carts 1 are placed one after the other so that the front wall 8 of the underlying shopping cart lies substantially below the handle 4 of the front shopping cart 4. The reading device is lowered so that the locking means 17 lie over the handle of the shopping cart in front. At the same time, the mounting members 19 projecting from the frame 15 will be moved over the front wall 8 of the rear shopping cart where they will cooperate with the straight-walled tree structure of the front wall and attach the reading device to the front wall of the basket and the two shopping carts remain connected in accordance with figure 2.
Figure 12 shows a variant of the rectangular body 15 of the reading device 14, where the mounting means 19 have been given a different design. Thus, this frame also has mounting means which project downwards towards the bottom 5 of the basket 2. The mounting means in this embodiment are at least three in number and thus arranged to form a gap 27 which partially encloses the front wall 8 of the basket. By giving the mounting means a corrugated or pleated shape. which replaces the control elements 21 described above, the mounting means will cooperate with the straight-walled tree construction of the front wall and attach the reading device to the front wall of the basket.
Figures 13a - c further show that alternatives for the mounting means 19 of the frame 15 in the form of one or more U-brackets. In accordance with Figure 13a, the N mounting means may open towards the basket 2 of the rear shopping cart 1. In accordance with Figure 13b, the mounting means may open towards the bottom 5 of the basket of the rear shopping cart 1, and in accordance with Figure 13c the mounting means the ring means even open towards the rear wall 7 of the front shopping cart 1. Such a bracket is hereby arranged to at least partially surround the upper S edge 9 of the front wall 8 of the rear shopping cart. Then one or more pins 28 are arranged to the mounting member, the frame 15 being connected S 35 to the basket 2.
The type of mounting means shown in the attached figures 12 and 13 can advantageously be formed in a frame 15 with fastening elements 16 of the type shown in figures - 11.
The present locking device 14 is advantageously manufactured in metal, reinforced plastic, plastic, fiberglass, natural fiber pulp or a combination of one or more of these.
The description above and the figures given therein are only intended to illustrate the present solution for the construction of a locking device for shopping carts. Thus, the solution is not limited only to the embodiment described above or in the appended protection requirements, but a number of variations or alternative embodiments are possible within the idea described in the appended protection requirements.
